Welcome to The Samuel Gardner Memorial Trust
We are a grant-giving charity supporting music education, the arts, and the natural world through grants of up to £2,000.
Our funding priorities are to support music education projects which show lasting legacy and quality, and are centred on learning and participation, music in healthcare, young people’s musical development, and inclusiveness.
As a subsidiary strand, we consider applications which contribute towards preserving the natural environment.
On average, we are able to support around 30 applications per year.

Our History
We were set up in April 1970 following a bequest from Arthur Gardner who wished the Trust to be named in memory of his father Samuel, a prominent landowner and benefactor in the Harrow-on-the-Hill area of north west London.
He was instrumental in establishing the South Hill Conservation Area and had a love of music and the arts.
For over fifty years, the Trust set up in his name has supported organisations large and small across the UK.
